Rose Chai Latte
With Valentine’s day around the corner, the search and struggle for gifts is real. Every year I am always looking for the next new best thing to give and of course to ask for. This year especially, my mind goes to how we can help support small, family owned and operated businesses. I rack my brain and the internet looking for something that isn’t generic and will be appreciated and remembered. My husband loves tea just as much as I do and we are always trying teas every chance we get. This year when we got set to launch the Rose Chai, I knew exactly what we would be enjoying all month long to celebrate.
This new product is at Chado and it’s full of flavor and comfort. We took our Reena’s Masala Chai and put a little Valentine’s Day spin on it. The best part is this chai is a year round favorite. For those of you who love roses like I do, you will love the delicious combination of roses and chai spices hand blended together in Southern California. When I first tried the tea, I was immediately transported back to my childhood drinking my favorite night time beverage, Rose Milk. If you haven’t ever tried it, it is an absolute must. It was so comforting, sweet and delicious. Of course since then, I’ve transitioned my diet to not include artificial syrups anymore. That’s why I am so in love with this chai! After playing around with the recipe for a bit, I found the perfect latte recipe, that has all the nostalgia of my childhood without all the unnecessary sugar!
Recipe and Instructions
-
In a pot, heat about 2oz of water on the stove and bring to a boil.
-
Add 1tsp of Rose Chai to the pot and let it boil with the water for about 3 minutes.
-
Then add about 6 oz of your preference of milk to the water and bring it to a boil. The key here is to never leave boiling milk unsupervised (don’t say I didn’t warn you!)
-
Once the mixture starts to rise, immediately turn off the heat, strain and pour into your favorite chai mug and enjoy.
If you prefer it sweet, go ahead and add any sweetener of your choosing. Personally, I love to add monk fruit sugar to my tea as a sugar substitute.
