Some Like It Chai: Chai Infused Cocktails
Here at Chado we love all things Chai. We love it so much that we offer nine different varieties of Chai Tea on our website! Whether you like the traditional chai with a black tea base or you want an herbal-based chai, we have you covered. Today we’re going to mix it up a bit with you though, we’re going to share a few Chai inspired cocktail recipes. These cocktails will take your morning chai and make it an evening chai you won’t forget!
Dirty Chai Martini
This recipe takes a Dirty Chai and makes it even… dirtier. A Dirty Chai Martini is sure to pack a punch not just with flavor but caffeine as well!
Servings: 4 cocktails
Ingredients:

1 cup water
-
1 tablespoon maple syrup
-
⅛ teaspoon pink himalayan salt
-
2 ounces espresso
-
1 cup milk (any of your choosing, plant based or regular)
-
4 ounces of vodka
-
Ice
-
Star Anise for garnish
Directions:
-
Steep the tea, once done discard the tea bags and add in the maple syrup and salt. Stir to combine and set aside to cool.

Make 2 ounces of espresso and set aside to cool.

Combine in a shaker the cooled chai, espresso, milk, vodka, and ice.

Strain into 4 chilled martini glasses and garnish with one star anise.
Vanilla Chai White Russian
Silky, creamy, and a little bit indulgent. This white russian recipe is like a dessert in a glass. Combining chai and two types of spirits, this cocktail is sure to delight your guests!
Servings: 1 cocktail but enough simple syrup for 6 cocktails
Ingredients for the Chai Simple Syrup:

⅓ cup honey
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Ingredients for the Chai White Russian:

¼ cup vodka
-
3 tablespoons Kahlua
-
2 - 4 tablespoons chai tea syrup
-
2 - 4 tablespoons heavy cream
-
Cinnamon sticks and star anise for garnish
Directions for Chai Simple Syrup:

In a medium saucepan boil 1 cup of water. Remove from heat and add the tea bags.

Steep for 10-15 minutes.

Remove the tea bags and add the honey.

Bring to a boil over high heat and boil for 3 to 5 minutes then remove from the heat.

Stir in the vanilla and set aside to cool. This syrup can be left in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Directions for Chai White Russian:

Fill a glass with ice.

Add the vodka, kahlua, and chai simple syrup. Stir gently.

Add the heavy cream and stir to combine.

Garnish with cinnamon and star anise.
Chai Fizz
Find a little pep in your step with this Chai Fizz! The addition of egg whites in cocktails has been around since the late 1800s and is the perfect addition to cut the edge from spirits and citrus.
Servings: 1 cocktail
Ingredients:

1 ½ ounces gin
-
¾ ounces lemon juice
-
½ ounces chai simple syrup(for this use the above recipe)
-
½ ounce egg whites
-
Club Soda, to top
-
Lemon twist for garnish
Directions:

Add all the ingredients but the club soda and ice to a shaker, shake vigorously.

Open the shaker and add ice, shake again for 30 seconds or until well combined and chilled.

Double strain into a chilled highball glass and serve without ice and top with club soda.

Garnish with the lemon twist.
